Dear Friends,

We are fast approaching the holiday season. Each year around this time, I post a reminder about Dr. Draw's Annual Holiday Show. I hope to let everyone know about the dates, times, and other details, and also to give a quick synopsis of what to expect from the performance. Last year, we switched up venues, returning back to a more intimate show at Hugh's Room. It was a great experience, and we've decided to play there again for the 2010 show. They are thrilled to have us back for four consecutive nights (DEC 10-13).

As part of the reminder, I want to tell you all that this year has been a year of change. Of course, things change constantly, but this time around I feel like a completely new person.

Originally, the plan was to have released an album in conjunction with our Holiday Shows, as our 'gift' to you. But these things cannot be rushed, and I feel like giving it the time it deserves to truly blossom into a work of art, one that is immune to time-lines and dates.  It's also because we simply have too much new material. Of course, not a complaint, but more of a thank you and a personal blessing to have been surrounded with amazing people all year long, helping to create this product from constant work-shopping and performing.

For those of you who have witnessed any of our live performances, you know you have to be there to experience it. It's constantly changing, which is why, when it comes to recording an album, it is crucially important that the album will have the same energy as when we perform live. As you can imagine, that is easier said than played.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to put it in writing, and officially to turn the Holiday Show this year into a live recording session, with full video and audio.  We will record the performance in its entirety, then edit down the best of the best, and also throw in some crazy moments, just pour le fun.  The result? The first ever live album.

The new album will include some of the live tracks. The full live record will be released on its own. We are also planning a visual aspect, in a new DVD.

This is a major undertaking, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I can’t wait to get into the production stages for this show. You will see less of me for the next month or so, as we flesh out the details, and give birth to another great show to finish off the year - or better yet, start a new one.
